Domain Backorders attempts to acquire domain names for you when they become available.<\/h4>\n<h4>To Backorder Domain Names on Investor&#8217;s Edge<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your Account Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Next to <strong>Domains<\/strong>, click <strong>Manage<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From <strong>Buy\/Sell<\/strong>, select <strong>Investor&#8217;s Edge<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the domain names you want to backorder, and then Click <strong>Backorder<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select one of the following, and then click <strong>Next<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Public<\/strong> \u2014 If we acquire the domain name for you, this type of backorder lists your personal domain name registration contact information in the Whois database.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Private<\/strong> \u2014 If we acquire the domain name for you, this type of backorder publishes proxy contact information to the Whois database instead of your personal domain name registration contact information. For more information, see <a href=\"http:\/\/help.secureserver.net\/article\/421?prog_id=110402&amp;locale=en\">Domains By Proxy FAQ<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>We send backorder notifications to the email address(es) listed here. If necessary, edit or add email address(es), and then click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If necessary, edit the domain name registration contact information we use if the backordered domain name becomes available, and then click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From the <strong>Number of credits to use<\/strong> list, select the number of credits you want to apply, and then click <strong>Next<\/strong>.\n<p class=\"note\"><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>The number of credits in the list are the credits you have available for the transaction. If you do not have enough credits, we take you to the shopping cart to complete a Domain Backorders purchase. To complete setting up your domain name backorder, continue through the checkout process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you selected expired domain names, select one of the following options to place bids on them, and then click <strong>Next<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Do not bid<\/strong> \u2014 This indicates not to place a bid on the expired domain names you selected.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Place same bid on all domains<\/strong> \u2014 Places a bid on each domain name you selected. The value of the bid is the same for each domain name.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enter a separate bid for each domain<\/strong> \u2014 Places a bid on each domain name you selected. Specify the <strong>Maximum Bid<\/strong> for each domain name.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Continue through the checkout process.<\/li>\n<li>If you selected <strong>Private<\/strong> backorder, complete the following:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Use existing account<\/strong> \u2014 If you already have an account with Domains By Proxy\u00ae, enter your <strong>User ID<\/strong> and <strong>Password<\/strong> for the account.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Create account<\/strong> \u2014 If you do not have an account, we request a Domains By Proxy account for you.
