  6. Click Save.
  7. Click the domain name you want to use.
  8. Go to the DNS Zone File tab.
  9. Click Edit.

Whonami-The several things to increase your search engine ranking

Keep in mind that it might take six to eight weeks for your updates to affect your search engine ranking. There are several things you can do that might increase your search engine ranking:

  • Use clear, concise title, description, and keyword meta tags.
  • Ensure proper use of HTML heading tags (h1, h2, h3, etc.).
  • Use alt tags on images.
  • Make regular updates to your website.
  • Resubmit your domain name after large updates.

Search engines use proprietary ranking algorithms, and Web directories rely on human editors. There is no guarantee that submitting your website to a particular search engine or directory produces a high ranking.

Whonami-A domain name and a website are two very different things

Do you already have a domain name? Don’t just let it sit there. Do something with it!

While domains and websites are closely connected, they are two very different things. After registering a domain, you need to do something with it, put it to work for you. Your domain can be used for a website, for an email account, or for both. You can, however, register a domain and choose NOT to use it for a website or an email account, BUT you can’t have a website or an email account without a domain.

When used for a website, your domain name is what people type into their browser to find your site – this is why they are sometimes referred to as web addresses. So Whonami.com is the domain used for Whonami’s website. Registering a domain, however, doesn’t automatically create a website – it only means that you’ve registered the domain.

So for example, if you decided to start your own business and you thought of great name for it, you might copyright the name to protect it. However, simply giving your business a name is only one of many steps that go into building your business. In the same manner, when you register a domain and want to use it for a website, you’ll need to first build the website, and then find a host for it, so it can be visible on the Web.

What’s a “host”? Website hosts are companies that house, serve, and maintain files for one or more websites. Think of a website hosting company like a shopping center that contains several individual stores. If you want to open a store at the shopping center, you can lease space and set up shop. Just like a shopping center, website hosting companies enable you to lease space on their web servers where you can store your website files and make them available for visitors to view.

Because you have registered your domain, you can use it at any web hosting company you want. Remember your store in the shopping center? Suppose you decided to move your store and lease space at a different shopping center. If you packed up your products and moved to a new location, you would still be able to use the same name for your store. The same is true for your domain – regardless of where you decided to host your website’s files, your domain remains yours for the duration of your registration.

WHONAMI is both a domain registrar AND a website hosting company – and we have the tools to help you build your website. This means you can register your domain name, build a website for it, and get it on the web – all in one place.

Whonami-The stages before being released to the open market of a domain after expiring

Days after expiration Action
Day 1 We make the first of three billing attempts to renew the domain name. If the billing fails on the day of, or auto renew fails, the domain name expires and is immediately set to parking. The domain name can be renewed by the registrant at no extra cost.
Day 5 We make the second billing attempt. The domain name remains in parking, but can still be renewed by the registrant at no extra cost.
Day 12 We make the third and final attempt to renew the domain name. The domain name can still be renewable by the registrant at no extra cost.
Day 19 The domain name can be renewed by the registrant for the cost of a one-year renewal plus an $80.00 redemption fee.
Day 26 We add the domain name to an expired domain name auction.
Day 36 The expired domain name auction ends. If there are no backorders and no bidders in the expired domain name auction, we list the domain name in a closeout auction.
Day 41 The closeout auction ends.
Day 43 We assign the domain name to the winner of the expired domain name auction, backorder, or closeout. If there are no bidders, we return the domain name to the registry.

A registrant can renew an expired domain name at no extra cost up to day 18. If they renew an expired domain name anytime between day 19 and day 42, they must also pay an $80.00 redemption fee. The domain name might not be available for renewal after day 42.

You have an option of canceling the domain name if you misspelled it

When the registration succeeds, you are charged, even if the domain name you entered was not what you actually intended to type. You have the option of canceling the domain name so that it is no longer registered to you. Remember that cancellation does not guarantee a refund of any portion of your registration fee, and it is a permanent action. You are welcome to try and purchase the correct domain name, if it is available.

Unfortunately, we are unable to change or edit the spelling of a domain name after you register it. We register the domain name exactly as you enter it.

Whonami – .FR Domain Name Registration

.fr France/General Purpose

Whonami offer cheap .FR domain registration service ($19.99/yr)

Individuals and companies located in France or who use a trustee service (which we can provide) can register .fr domain names.

Domain names can be up to 63 characters, with a minimum of three characters, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. We support French IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names)

A customer cannot register a .FR domain name if it includes the name of a city in France. For instance, coolexampleparis.fr is not allowed to be registered and will show up as not available when checking out.

The .fr country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) is an extension that represents France. For companies that conduct business in France and individuals who want to reach the growing number of Internet users there, .fr domain names are a good investment. Registering a .fr domain name gives you regional recognition and an easy-to-manage Web presence

Whonami- You should register more than one domain name, 12/10/2015.

This is the right idea. When you register and use multiple domains names is great for building your business, protecting your brand name, and creating a dynamic online identity.

Multiple domain names will help you:

1-Protect your brand and online identity
2-Capture common misspellings of your domain name, instead of sending visitors to an error page.
3-Provide customers more ways to find you when searching the Internet
4-Keep your competition from registering a similar domain name drawing customers to them instead of you
5-Promote the different products and services you offer
6-Drive more traffic to your website
7-Enjoy more opportunities to market to — and be listed in — search engines
8-Create distinct advertising strategies reaching different target markets

Whonami-How can I register an expired domain name? Oct 12, 2015

If the domain name is not renewed, redeemed, or purchased through an auction, it is returned to its registry. The registry determines when the domain name is released again for registration. Once it’s released, you can register the domain name through us.

Usually, a domain name is not available for re-registration as soon as it expires. Most registrars allow a grace period that can be as short as one or two weeks or as long as a year for registrants to renew expired domain names. The actual grace period can be different for each individual registrar and domain name extension. That is, the grace period for a .com domain name might be different from the grace period for a .us domain name, even at the same registrar.

After the registrar’s grace period, most domain names have a redemption period. This period can last from two weeks to 30 days, and, during this time, the current registrant can renew the domain name by paying a redemption fee along with the domain name’s renewal fee.

If the current registrant does not renew or redeem the domain name, it might be auctioned. When a domain name is released to a public auction, you can participate and possibly capture the domain name by placing a bid on it.
