The new gTLD’s .Car, .Cars and .Auto went into it’s first day of general availability (GA) yesterday according to Thedomains.
According to RegistrarStats.com here are the totals from the first day of GA

So basically 430 domain registrations at a wholesale price to the registry of $2,000 per domain, let call it a cool million for the registry
The registry which is a joint venture between Uniregistry and XYZ.com reportedly took in another $1 Million in the Early Access Period including EAP fees.
Including domain registrations by trademark holders in the Sunrise Period, the domain names registered in the Early Access program and the first day of GA here are the total number of registrations:

One domain investor proudly announced on Facebook he registered e.auto, e.car and e.cars on the first day of GA.With retail prices around $2,500 per registration that is $7,500 a year in renewal fees but they are great domain names.In the RightoftheDot.com extended auction ending today from Namescon, the domain name Y.car has a high bid of $1,100 (1st year of registration included) on Namejet.com, it will be interesting to see where that one winds up.
